Restore and Mobility
For my sweet beautiful Shea.
A more challenging and physically demanding compression based practice. No props necessary for class. Modify as needed and remember my cues are directional, so even if you aren't connecting various body parts or deeply compressed, that all we want to do is move in that direction.
Grab a few blocks, this is an active restore class, so expect to move and work your body in a different way than you are used to. No matter what level of practitioner you are this is so key to work on!
20 minutes to work ROM of the joints. Grab a couple blocks and a pillow or blanket.
Here is a change of vibe for Friday class this week. This is a recording of last week's live Saturday class. I don't usually record these classes as they are Live for members only, however this is IMPORTANT for everyone and usually is a problem area for most of us. Enhancing our mobility is an opportunity to move our bodies more freely and keep that youthful feeling we all strive for!
Grab your tennis/lacrosse ball to roll out the tissues of the glutes, hips and back.

The first class in the yoga fundamentals series. We work through introductory poses, sun A and a few basic lunges. NOTE: Cusco decides to put in his two cents during the surrender series :)
In this video, we break down the warrior series and lunging postures. This is a great tool for the newer practitioner to see poses that don't get much break down in power yoga.
Where we place the weight in our bodies can make all the difference in how a posture feels, and even the effectiveness in some cases. Lets start to explore this concept today. No props needed, get ready to balance!
